Although not terribly exciting to read about, my first day of “adventuring” consisted of FaceTiming with one of my best friends and favorite people in the whole world; somehow we have lived in different cities for 3 years and have never done this.  It wasn’t something challenging per se, but the challenge is more so making the time and conscious effort to keep in touch in the midst of our busy lives.  When I was at the worst point in my depression, I thought of reaching out to this friend in particular, but I worried about my problems affecting her and bringing her down too; it’s easy to feel like you don’t have a place in someone’s busy life or schedule, but it’s amazing how valuable those conversations are once you have them.

We talked for 2 1/2 hours and could have kept going were it not for doggy slash dinner duties. It really reminded me of how much more important the relationships in my life are than the countless hours I spend watching Netflix or playing games on my phone.  Yay perspective!  And on Day One too 😉

I’ve got a long weekend coming up so I promise the next few days’ adventures will be more exciting!  Stick with me!

Also, I wanted to make a list of recipes to try to cook but realized I had no idea where to start or what I even wanted to make – any suggestions would be much appreciated!
